We are seeking a highly experienced support worker in education to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in education and a proven track record of providing excellent support to students with a range of needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs, including those with disabilities, mental health needs, and behavioral challenges.

Work closely with teachers, learning support assistants, and other professionals to ensure that students receive the appropriate support and accommodations to reach their full potential.- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior plans in consultation with teachers and parents/carers.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents/carers.
- Provide emotional support and practical assistance to students, such as helping with personal care, mobility, and communication.
- Assist with classroom management, including supporting students in following routines, managing transitions, and accessing the curriculum.
- Collaborate with other support workers and professionals to develop and implement school-wide strategies for promoting inclusion and meeting the needs of all students.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience working as a support worker in education, preferably in a mainstream or special school setting.
- A strong understanding of special educational needs and disabilities, including knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents/carers.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
- A commitment to promoting inclusion and equality of opportunity for all students.
Qualifications:
- A relevant qualification in education, social care, or a related field, such as a diploma in specialist support for teaching and learning in schools, an NVQ in health and social care, or an equivalent qualification.
- Additional training and qualifications in areas such as autism, mental health, and challenging behavior are desirable.
