The V&A is the world’s leading museum of art, design and performance. We enrich people’s lives by promoting the practice of design and increasing knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of the designed world. We are planning a large-scale exhibition opening in Autumn 2025 on an iconic 18th-century figure and their lasting influence on over 250 years of design, fashion, film and decorative arts. Drawing on the V&A’s collection alongside international loans, the exhibition will be accompanied by a publication and events, with the intention to tour internationally following its staging at the V&A.
