Various Hours Available - £11.05 per hour *plus £1 extra per hour weekend enhancement
The Pacey’s is a seven bedded respite service offering a warm welcome to individuals with multiple learning disabilities and autism, delivering support to individuals 24/7.
Individuals come here for short breaks so being proactive and encouraging is a must to ensure each individual feels like they’re having a holiday and making lifelong memories.
We operate with a high ratio of staff to individuals receiving support, this ensures that we can provide personalised support and assist everyone to engage in activities that meet their personal needs and preferences. Some activities our individuals enjoy doing include cinema trips, shopping, eating out, arts and crafts, bowling, and sensory play. The way we work means that we develop strong and lasting relationships with the individuals we support and their families.
You should be an effective communicator be prepared to use different communication tools and methods and follow the lead of the person you're communicating with as we have a variety of guests that use different communication styles. General housekeeping is also essential to keep up and maintain standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend activities and events with individuals
- Assist with meal preparation and medication management
- Support individuals with household tasks, such as cleaning and laundry
- Accompany individuals to appointments and community activities
- Monitor and report any changes in physical or mental health to appropriate staff members
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided
- Provide personal care to individuals, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
Requirements:
- A compassionate and caring nature
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A willingness to undergo relevant training and development
